Yorkshire Day greetings from us all!

Today, 1^st August, is Yorkshire Day. Being a Yorkshire business through and through we could hardly forget! We are proud to celebrate Yorkshire – the largest county in the UK. It’s a day that promotes our historic county and was first celebrated by the Yorkshire Ridings Society in 1975, initially in Beverley, as “a protest movement against the local government re-organisation of 1974” but in fact was originally a military holiday.

The Yorkshire Society is behind the promotion of Yorkshire Day, making it an annual event when the whole region shows the world how proud we are to be Yorkshire. We certainly echo that at Fuel Storage Solutions!

They also organise the centrepiece of Yorkshire Day when civic leaders, VIP guests and members of the Society are invited to gather in a host town or city, to mark this special day.
