Summary

FSS is looking for an ambitious, hard-working, individual to be employed as a Junior Fuels Engineer.

The position will require the successful candidate to be part of its on-site engineering team to assist in completing various works ranging from small, one-off jobs, to major projects. The candidate should have good computer skills and be able to read AUTOCAD/schematics.  We will invest heavily in your training and provide continuous mentoring and support. You must be versatile, able to multi-task, and be open to learn new skills.

Role details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Supervisor.

As an analytical thinker with a minimum AAT qualification or similar, looking to take your next career step, you will have previous financial accounting experience with strong mathematical skills, be highly proficient in operating Sage and comfortable with CRM systems, along with all MS office applications. Key elements of the role include:

Purchasing

  • Raising purchase order to suppliers

Ideal candidates will be expected to have experience on the following:

  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) SYNERGIST experience would be preferable, however training can be given.
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be a key point of contact both within and out of the business.
  • Very strong organisational skills as you must be good at prioritising your workload to help the business run smoothly.

Main Purpose of the job:

To forecast, design, develop and deliver project and profit results through excellence in the ownership and development of customer relationships, and coordination of, and communication with, internal teams. To assist the Project Lead Design with complex projects; To ensure high quality delivery and service of the end-to-end project quoting and fulfilment process; from providing accurate quotations in accordance with technical/pricing specifications and customer needs, to ensuring effective job fulfilment and timely invoicing on completion, complying with all company systems and processes. To work with the broader Projects team on project delivery and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design projects with guidance and independently (The design work will include but not limited to designing fuel tanks, pipework’s, pumps and FPUs. 2D and 3D CAD; Mathematical calculations,

Product specs and understanding, bill of material identification and procurement)

  • Review supplier quotes and propose a preferred supplier / subcontractor to the project team based on price, quality and delivery against client criteria and specifications
  • Assist the Project Design Lead with design parts / phases of bigger projects
  • Prepare and update technical documents, RAMS, and other required documents to project and client specifications
  • Build client relationship and maintain client satisfaction
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to develop and maintain excellent relations
  • Maintain effective communication and regular project progress update with the client
  • Brief in engineers (inc. subcontractors) on a project before project commencement
  • Ensure the client receives a cost-effective service and value for money whilst maintaining commercially viable profits for FSS
  • Establish client end goal and specific requirements for projects and identifying best solution – being able to reason (pros and cons) in a conversation with the clients.
  • Negotiate T&C’s on projects
  • Ensure clients comply with all agreed payment terms and contractually agreed conditions.
  • Efficiently communicate with other departments about project delivery particulars, and commercial and project milestones
  • Price up jobs to commercial rates whilst remaining competitive; assess project requirements
  • Manage suppliers from obtaining quotations through to project delivery
  • Service multiple customers concurrently, meeting deadlines
  • Ensure customers receive products and services right first time
  • Develop a good understanding of the businesses’ products and services to be able to identify how they will best address the problems customers are seeking to solve
  • Negotiate and renegotiate by phone, email, and in person
  • Ensure all close out processes are completed for customer jobs and services, including timely invoicing and payment
  • Co-ordinate customers’ project requirements from order to completion and agree commercial and technical standards.
  • Liaise with directly employed site engineers and sub-contractors on projects as and when required
  • Willingness to learn and efficiently manage a programme of works for projects from start to finish; anticipating problems before they occur and rectifying problems promptly, confidently and thoroughly when they do occur.
