With cyber-attacks on the rise and recent high-profile breaches — including the global AWS outage — it has never been more critical to build robust defences that safeguard our operations here at FSS.

A key part of our strategy is achieving Cyber Essentials accreditation — the UK Government’s minimum baseline standard for cyber security. This annually renewable certification is aligned with five core technical controls designed to prevent the most common internet-based threats.

Our comprehensive security measures include:

• Segregated “Guest” Wi-Fi networks for our portable devices such as phones and laptops, reducing exposure to hacking risks.
• Advanced anti-hacking and threat-detection software.
• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all staff devices.
• Specialist support for verifying suspicious or potentially harmful emails.
• Comprehensive cyber insurance to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity.
