HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire presents us with our King’s Award for Enterprise

Published 5th September 2024

Bradford-based Fuel Storage Solutions Limited (FSS) were honoured in 2023 with the first ever King’s Award for Enterprise, recognising the company’s excellence in innovation.

Katharine Barnett, Finance Director, attended an informal reception at Buckingham Palace and met with the King and other members of the Royal family. Protocol dictates however that the official presentation of the Award is made at the winner’s premises by the King’s representative. HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Ed Anderson CBE, recently attended at Fuel Storage Solutions to present the Directors with their commemorative crystal bowl and Grant of Appointment scroll.

As they have played their own parts in helping FSS to win this prestigious award, the whole team were present along with representatives of local organisations and community groups. These included the local Brontë Birthplace project of which FSS is a corporate sponsor. It was a good excuse to create a celebratory atmosphere with socialising over a buffet.

An award-winning OFTEC registered company, FSS won the King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation Category for inventing, designing, patenting and bringing to market APIApipe™, a unique ‘pipe in a pipe’, fully bunded pipework system.

FSS is a leader in our field of operation and the benchmark for quality in the provision of specialist fuel system engineering.

Commenting for FSS, Katharine Barnett said: “We’re delighted to have welcomed the Lord-Lieutenant to our offices and to enjoy a second celebration of our win! A timely reminder of our success in putting our family owned and run business on the map. It’s a tremendous achievement for our team, who all worked tirelessly to market our APIApipe™ and to realise the products ongoing success as the market leading solution for the transportation of fuels through pipework”.
