FSS team heads to the Falkland Islands

Final preparations are complete after months of planning and organisation. A Team from FSS, including seven Engineers is departing for the Falklands tomorrow 21st September.
Their mission during the 6 month assignment will be to focus on fuel line improvements and tank inspections. These include tank bottom valve changes, corrosion protection along the cross-country pipeline from the beach head to RAF Mount Pleasant, and EEMUA 159 on the tanks at the PSD.
The team will fly from RAF Brize Norton on a 3-month deployment returning to the UK for the Christmas break. Then they return for a further 3 months.
Next on the agenda for the team will be assignments in the Ascension Islands, Singapore and Cyprus.
