Armed Forces Day 24th June 2023

This is an annual day we mark in our calendar.

Fuel Storage Solutions is a proud member of The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) which supports the Armed Forces.

What does the ERS do? It recognises private sector support of veterans leaving the forces. As a Silver Award holder in the scheme we pledge, demonstrate and advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align our values with the Armed Forces Covenant which we have signed.

National Armed Forces Day is a chance for everyone to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved to provide a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families.

Having been part of the ERS initiative for many years we can say with absolute certainty that the veterans who have joined FSS have contributed hugely to our business delivering expert engineering services to clients nationwide. We are proud to have supported and employed individuals at a sometimes difficult time as they re-enter civilian life. Our highlights include:

• We currently have 9 ex-military personnel on our payroll
• They are all carrying out significant operational engineering work throughout the UK
• We have provided training and familiarisation
• FSS welcomes all ex-military staff to apply for roles

We also donate regularly to the charity Hull4 heroes and we do this in memory of Carl Jones who was a senior engineer at FSS and died in October 2019.
